Occasionally, existing legislation prevents
an issuer from realizing the full benefit of
a good idea without it actually being the
original intent of the law. The Company’s
founder has worked with State Legislatures
in the past and is comfortable with the
process of testifying before various
committees, finding good sponsors for bills, and working with bond counsel to draft
potential laws. Sometimes, with the development of a new idea, it is necessary to make
significant changes to existing laws. L.J. Hart & Company is willing to assist any
of its clients in this area whenever such assistance is believed to be helpful. The same
applies to getting an Attorney General’s opinion to clarify certain ambiguities that
might exist in the statutes or regulations.
Our basic service is to help local governments borrow money on a tax-exempt
basis to meet their capital facilities and equipment needs. These are some of
